Identifying Local Opportunities

"Student loan debt doubles, is progressive call for forgiveness best option?"

This article talks about the problem of student loan debt. Many Americans have a staggering amount of student debt. Student loan debt in this country totals $1.6 trillion. One of the many people suffering from this large amount of student loan debt is Melanie Kover, a Palm Beach County resident. She is currently only able to make interest payments on her $60,000 worth of student loan debt. The amount of students taking out loans to finance their education has continued to grow, even during the Great Recession. Some candidates from the Democratic Party want to forgive part or all of this student debt through various means, but others think this is not feasible.

The problem in this article is the huge amount of student loan debt that many Americans have accumulated. The people with the debt, including Melanie Kover, are the ones with the problem. Their family members could also be affected by this problem.

"3 maternity clothing chains could be heading toward bankruptcy"

This article is about the fact that Destination Motherhood, which operates the stores Motherhood Maternity, Pea in the Pod, and Destination Maternity, may be forced to file for bankruptcy. It is likely that they will try to find a buyer once they have filed for bankruptcy, but if that fails, all 458 stores could close for good. That would mean that more than 3,000 employees could be without jobs.

The problem in this article is the likely bankruptcy of Destination Motherhood and their three store brands. The people affected by this problem are the employees of Destination Motherhood and their families. Also, anyone who shops at these stores will be affected by this problem.

The company says that this has saved them money in healthcare costs, including about $1.2 million in 2018. Many other companies are also trying to save healthcare cost by helping their employees get better quality sleep.

"UN agency declares global emergency over virus from China"

This article talks about the virus that is spreading throughout China and many other countries in the world. The virus originated in the Wuhan region of China and has been reported in more than a dozen other countries. It is a cousin of the SARS virus that was a worldwide epidemic back in 2002-2003. This new virus seems to be spreading from human to human and health officials are racing to isolate those who have been infected. Travel and trade has been greatly affected, and there are reports of food shortages within the Wuhan region of China. Online shopping and home delivery services have been a big help in getting goods to those who are isolated in their homes.

The problem listed in this article is the spread of a virus and the lack of food in the affected region of China. The people of the Wuhan region of China, and anyone who has recently traveled there are the main people with the problem. There could potentially be many more people facing a problem if the virus continues to spread. It could even become a problem here in Florida.

  1. Student Debt affects most students for many decades after their graduation. Those in charge of laws paid usually ¼ the total cost each of us will have spent for the same degree. There is a definite disconnect there and will be for many years!
Many specialty stores and products such as pregnancy and wedding items are branded specifically for those who need them but add a large percentage because of their names. For instance, Publix charges $150 for a regular sheet cake for 100 people, slap the word wedding on it and they charge $800! Maybe this is the reason why this Brick and Mortar store is looking at bankruptcy.
Poor sleep is an issue that has affected many of us at some point. It was enlightening to see the health issues that occur.
I did not know they banned adult gaming parlors.
The coronavirus is something that is spreading all around the world, pretty scary that there is no cure.

  2. I like your great articles selection at the same time detailed description and vision. Student loan, for example, is a huge problem that many students face after they complete their degree. This issue exists mostly in the US and UK, however in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden - it's free even for foreign students which surprises me because these are counties with similar or even higher GDP (http://statisticstimes.com/economy/projected-world-gdp-capita-ranking.php) Also, in France, Spain, and Austria they have low under $2000 annual tuition. Anyway, the issue does exist, and only few solutions offered. One, for example, is a loan forgiveness for those who had worked full time during 10 years for a non-profit organization and was making loan payments every month, which I have not seen anyone to qualify.
